SugarWorld Foundation Inc.

Our purpose is to promote a method of deliverance to address the needs of less fortunate children, seniors, and individuals who live in communities where SUGARWORLD FOUNDATION (SWF) strives to make significant contributions to enhance the quality of lives. SWF established the Adopt-A-Family program to source funding for assisting needy families that meet SWF assistance award criteria. Our partnerships have resulted in significant breakthroughs that strengthen SWF’s ability to deliver services that immediately enhance the lives of those who have benefited from our work.

The Sugar World Foundation is a Not-for-Profit Organization based in the United States.

Our purpose is to promote a method of deliverance that addresses the needs of the less fortunate children, seniors and individuals who live in communities where SUGARWORLD FOUNDATION is active in New York City, New Jersey and the Caribbean. Plans for building and expanding the organization includes the development of a diverse and experienced management team, coupled with programs that are focused on basic needs and family first. SUGARWORLD FOUNDATION has established the Adopt-A-Family program which raises funds specifically for providing assistance to needy families that meet our criteria and have started and grown some partnership over the years. All of our partnerships have resulted in significant breakthroughs that strengthen SWF’s ability to generate support and deliver services that immediately enhance the lives of those individuals who have benefited from our work.

Julien Duncan, President

Make a difference in the life of a child — and have some fun doing it!

I’m pleased to announce that Sugar World Foundation is launching a youth mentoring program in the 3rd quarter of 2021. In my life, I’ve experienced first-hand the impact encouragement, acknowledgment, effective listening,  and having a role model can have in a child’s life. Mentoring programs give us each a chance to contribute the rising stars in our communities. Many of you may already participate in mentoring activities, whereas others (like me) are ready to take this next step through the Sugar World Foundation Mentoring Program. I hope you will join me.

The Role of a Mentor

A mentor supports a person by helping them find ways to build confidence, courage, and motivation to set goals. A mentor exposes the mentee to tackling fundamental life challenges by drawing on their own life experience to guide them when advising the mentee.

SWF intends to focus on the young people in communities whose lives will be enriched with the wisdom and guidance of an older, more experienced person from the Sugar World Foundation Mentoring Program.

How does mentoring help? In addition to making children more confident in their schoolwork and trusting their parents or guardians, mentoring makes students.
  •  52% less likely to skip school;
  • 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs;
  • 37% less likely to miss a class;
  • 27% less likely to start using alcohol; and
  • 33% less likely to hit someone.

Who can participate?

This opportunity is available to all Sugar World Foundation members and any other organization willing to partner with us in this effort.

How do I participate?

The first step is to fill out a brief mentor application online. The application process includes a background check, introductory training session, and pairing of mentor to mentee.

SWF will provide ongoing programs to support mentors in their essential role.  Mentors should plan to commit two hours per month of participation.
